Tom's Spiritual Beliefs
I am an event rippling through existence, interacting to one degree or another with all the
other things that together, make up that existence.
I was neither destined nor designed, but I am the product of the same natural forces that create
everything else.
I had a beginning, and I will have an end, but the stuff that I am made of can be neither created
nor destroyed.
And that's cool.
Life According To Tom
I am completely out of my mind.
So what.
Here are some thoughts I'd like more people to dwell on:
-
If you treat certain people favorably because of your associations,
what are you doing to everybody else?
-
People who don't understand what's going on
should get out of the way.
-
It is human nature to succeed at the expense of others, and it is also human nature to deny
that's what's happening.
-
You might as well enjoy everything that you can manage in life,
because there are no points for suffering - in fact no points
at all.
-
Most decisions are easier if you pretend someone else is making them and you start by
eliminating the intolerable.
-
Thoughtful treatment of quality ingredients can almost guarantee a satisfying outcome.
-
People either create turbulence, absorb it, or ride on top of it.
-
Deception is a way of arming your adversaries.
-
Discard stale thoughts to make room for fresh ones (i.e. eat more Mentos).
-
Never pick up a penny you find on the floor - just kick it under something.
-
You probably have more of almost everything than you really need.
-
Plants have been celebrating ever since the day that animals stopped eating them and
started eating each other instead.
-
You can't predict the weather, yet somehow you can still trust it.
The opposite is true for people.
-
The game "musical chairs" is basic training for a "shaft your way to success" culture.
Conscientious people are terrible at musical chairs.
